Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MyMediLedger ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and [Your Company Name], operating MyMediLedger, registered in India.

2. What MyMediLedger Is (and Is Not)

What MyMediLedger IS:

• A personal health record organiser — helps you store and organise your health information
• A report generator — creates formatted PDF summaries to share with your clinician
• A risk screening tool — calculates validated scores (ASCVD, FINDRISC) for informational awareness
• A vaccination tracker — tracks your vaccination history against CDC 2025 recommendations
• A lab result organiser — helps you record and review past lab results

What MyMediLedger is NOT:

• Not a medical device (not registered under CDSCO or FDA)
• Not a telemedicine platform
• Not a replacement for a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, or any licensed healthcare provider
• Not an emergency service — for emergencies, call 112 (India) immediately

3. Medical Disclaimer

Specifically:

• The ASCVD 10-Year Risk Score is a statistical screening tool. It cannot diagnose cardiovascular disease. Your actual risk may differ based on factors not captured in this tool.
• The FINDRISC Diabetes Risk Score is a screening questionnaire, not a diagnostic test.
• The CDC Vaccination Schedule is a general recommendation. Individual needs may vary based on medical history, travel, occupation, and other factors your clinician is best placed to assess.
• Lab results entered in MyMediLedger are for record-keeping only. Interpretation must be done by a qualified clinician.

Always consult a qualified, licensed medical professional for any health concerns or before making any healthcare decisions.

4. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
• You must be capable of entering into a legally binding agreement
• You must provide accurate information during registration
• You may create accounts for family members only with their explicit consent (or on behalf of dependants under your legal guardianship)

5. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately at security@mymediledger.com if you suspect unauthorised access
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• One person, one account — you may not share accounts
• You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their knowledge and consent

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use MyMediLedger to:

• Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent health information
• Impersonate another person or create accounts for others without consent
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform
• Use the platform for commercial purposes without written permission
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or authentication
• Use automated bots or scripts to access the Service

7. Your Health Data

Your health data belongs to you. By using MyMediLedger, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely to provide the Service.

• You retain full ownership of all health information you enter
• You can export or delete your data at any time
• We do not claim ownership of your health records
• When you share a PDF report with a clinician, you are responsible for that sharing decision

8. AI Features (Lab Report OCR)

The lab report image extraction feature uses Claude AI by Anthropic. By using this feature:

• You consent to your uploaded lab report image being transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing
• You understand the extracted values are AI-generated and may contain errors
• You agree to review and verify all AI-extracted lab values before relying on them
• You accept that AI performance may vary with image quality, lab format, or handwritten reports

This feature is optional. You can manually enter all lab values without using AI extraction.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law:

• MyMediLedger is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any medical decisions made based on information in MyMediLedger
• We are not liable for any harm resulting from inaccurate AI-extracted lab values
• Our total liability to you shall not exceed ₹5,000 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is greater
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

10. Intellectual Property

The MyMediLedger name, logo, design, software, and all non-user-generated content are the intellectual property of [Your Company Name] and protected under applicable Indian law.

The risk calculator algorithms (ASCVD Pooled Cohort Equations, FINDRISC) are based on published academic research and CDC/ACIP public guidelines — we do not claim ownership of these methodologies.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. In cases of serious violation (fraud, attempted security breach), termination will be immediate.

Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.

12. Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, specifically:

• Information Technology Act, 2000
• Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
• Consumer Protection Act, 2019

Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in [Your City], India.
